What does the Apollo Space Program have to do with Freemasonry? Most of us would never guess that there is any connection between the two. Believe it or not, there is a conspiracy theory that claims the Masons are part of a plot to exploit the space program. According to the theory there was a faked explosion on the Apollo 13 spacecraft on April 13, 1970. This explosion is a metaphor of death (explosion), then the placement in the coffin (period of uncertainty of their survival), and the impartation of esoteric knowledge to the candidate (orbit and observation of the moon without physical contact), then a rebirth of the candidate (solution of problem and repairs), then the raising up by the grip of the lions paw (or a reentry and recovery of Apollo 13).

Those who hold this theory believe that we stopped the moon exploration effort because there was too much danger of this great hoax being discovered. They would have us believe that everything that we saw on television concerning the space program was all staged.

C. Fred Kleinknect, head of NASA at the time of the Apollo Space Program, is now the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Counsil of the 33^rd Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of the Southern Jurisdiction. Those who hold to this conspiracy theory wants you to believe that Apollo is "Lucificer," the Scottish Rite Organization's flag is the same as the United Nations Flag, which represents the nations of the world. The laurel of Apollo is circling around the world, which should warn us of the coming of the Anti-Christ.

Obviously, some people are going to extreme measures in order to make Freemasonry look like it is involved in most of the conspiracies going on in the world today.
