Masons Are Conspiring To Take Over Washington D.C.
Let us take a quick look at why some may have considered this a viable threat. Freemasonry has had an influence upon this country even before it became a nation. Soon after Freemasonry took on a visible presence on the streets of London in 1717 a great number of Masons began immigrating to America. Quite a few of them were members of military Lodges. In other words, certain British military units had Masons within their ranks that had a charter from the Grand Lodge in Europe to operate while in foreign lands.
It was during this period, 1670-1759, that Freemasonry seriously came to North America. English, Irish and Scottish Military Lodges brought it with them. Its concepts slowly caught on with the thinking men in the colonies. Its firm belief in the brotherhood of man under the fatherhood of God found fertile ground in those who believed in the freedom of man. This would become evident within the next several years. The philosophies of the various colonies and their leadership became more varied as the years went by. In each of them there was a faction that considered the acts of the King and Parliament in England repressive. (Freemasonry and Democracy by Allen E. Roberts)
As early as the mid-eighteenth century prominent Masons were interested in setting up new Lodges throughout the colonies. The British organized the first North American Chapter in 1731. Oglethorpe, the first governor of Georgia, and a Mason, petitioned the Grand Lodge in Europe to establish new Lodges in the colony of Georgia. On February 21, 1734 General James Oglethorpe was instrumental in the formation of the first Masonic meeting in the Georgia.
After the Battle Of Concord the Americans knew their backs were up against the wall. Freedom would only come by warfare.
The British General Thomas Gage marched on Concord to destroy what his spies informed him was a large store of military supplies. Bostonians were expecting some such move. When it was made a signal was flashed from the Old North Church by a Freemason. This sent Paul Revere, a member of St. Andrew's Lodge, and others, to warn the citizens ( Freemasonry and Democracy by Allen E. Roberts)
The Second Continental Congress began meeting on May 10, 1775, in Philadelphia. On July 15, George Washington, a Freemason from Virginia, was elected Commander-in- Chief of the Continental Forces. Without question, he was the logical man for the position. Events would prove this beyond a doubt. (Ibid)
Many of the founding fathers of this nation were Masons or Masonic sympathizers. You may remembers such names as Ethan Adams, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, John Paul Jones, James Madison, Paul Revere, and of course, George Washington. Among the sympathizers of Freemasonry were John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Daniel Webster. Among those who signed the Declaration of Independence were found a large percentage of Freemasons. Out of the 56 men who signed this famous document 15 were either Masons or in sympathy with it. Among the 40 who signed the Constitution of the United States 28 were most likely Masons. There is some evidence that this country may have floundered at its inception had it not been for the help of Freemasons. The Americans needed some outside help to defeat the Great British Army. General Lafayette, a Mason, came to the aid of the American colonies and gave us that extra support that we so badly needed. Most of the commanders in the Continental Army were Masons. Most of George Washington's generals were Masons. Even the Boston Tea Party was thought to have been planned by the members of the local Lodge.
Steven C. Bullock in his recent book "Revolutionary Brotherhood, Freemasonry and the transformation of the American Social Order 1730-1840," posits that Freemasons were responsible for the social changes that formed our government and way of life. The start of Freemasonry in the American Colonies in the early 1700's began the story of our Masonic progress to date. (

When the first shots were fired at Concord and Bunker Hill there were Masons standing among the other brave heroes. Robert Morris, who received his apron from George Washington, was now the person who would take charge of America's treasury. Benjamin Franklin, one of the first great American Masons, would become Ambassador to France. Robert Livingston, New York's Grand Master, moved into the position of our First American Secretary of Foreign Affairs. Baron Von Stueben from Germany came to America to take charge of training our military to fight the British. He was also a Freemason. The list could go on and on, but let us just suffice it to say that America's course in the world was definitely set by Freemasons who believed in what this country could become under the banner of liberty.
With all of this evidence that our great nation was built by the influence and support of Freemasonry why do some believe that the "American Dream" was a Masonic plot? This is a quote from an anti-Mason who believes America is not a "Christian Nation," but rather a "Masonic Nation:"
Based up the evidence of Masonic influences in the establishment of this nation, there is no doubt that the criteria necessary to classify the United States as a Christian Nation were NOT met. An objective study of the Masonic affiliations of the founding fathers must cause Christians to reevaluate their own political philosophy.
(Rick Miesel - Biblical Discernment Ministries - Web Site.)It seems that Mr. Miesel is convinced that this is not a Christian nation because the Masons were in a conspiracy to remove the name of Jesus Christ from the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Well, isn't it strange that approximately one fourth of the signers of these documents had the power to dictate to all of the other signers that they had to delete the name of Jesus? No, there is not a conspiracy going on. The founders of this nation set out from the beginning to give religious freedom to all of its citizens. They had no desire to see another national religion such as the British had. It is the privilege of every citizen to worship God in the way that they see fit. For the great majority of American citizens they have chosen to give Christ that exalted position of God in their lives. Yes, the United States government is not and has not called itself an exclusively Christian nation, but it is not the government that determines that status; It is the people of this great nation who has made it a Christian nation.
There is not conspiracy plot among the Masons to make this a pagan country. Those who believe otherwise are deceived.
